How we dress
may not define us,
but it does speak to
who we are,
what we value,
and something
of our history.

The ruins of a ceremonial center
in the northern outskirts of

Cusco, Peru

The inhabitants of the Andes
took weaving and textile making
to a high art long, long before
the arrival of the Europeans.
The Nazca and the Paracas,
whose textile knowledge
was inherited by the Inca,
produced cloth that is
still prized to this day,
and considered
a national treasure.
